Lithium Batteries
Over the past decade, Lithium batteries have become an integral source of power for the booming recreation industry as well as being a staple within the electronics industry. From mobile phones and laptops to E-Bikes and drones, Lithium batteries are now part of our everyday life.
The regulations relating to shipping Lithium batteries are constantly changing and evolving so it is critical that we provide the most recent information as to how these can be moved safely by all modes of transport.
At APG Freight we are obligated to ensure that shipments that contain Lithium Batteries are fully compliant with the relevant regulations for all modes of transport, size/weight of batteries, which classification to determine if they have to be shipped on general modes of transport or cargo only.
APG Freight is certified and undergoes regular updates and training to remain at the forefront of shipping of Lithium batteries to anywhere nationally or around the world.

Why are they dangerous!
I know, it can seem a little excessive, at first. But, Lithium batteries have been known to combust, leak and even burst into flames unexpectedly.
Which is never a good thing no matter where they are, but certainly not in mid-air.
And, since most re-chargeable gadgets, battery operated tools, testing equipment and technology run on Lithium batteries, pretty much all such items, when send or shipped, are classified as Dangerous Goods.
Which class, type of packaging and relevant labelling is required might be easy to look up, but unless you are certified to package dangerous goods or use a packaging service by an accredited provider like APG Freight - well liability lies with you and you are most likely not able to get your cargo shipped.
We are your professional accredited Lithium batteries and dangerous goods freight partner - best yet, we are only a call or click away.
International Shipping of Lithium Batteries
When you want to ship a tech gadget to a family member in any APAC country, and it has a Lithium battery, it has to be shipped declared as a dangerous good and depending on the size and weight of the battery itself, how it can be shipped there.
If you have sensitive testing equipment as is common in geo, engineering, mining, oil and gas, medical or battery-operated tools, then most likely, the combined weight of the Lithium batteries will require it to be shipped as a cargo-only load, meaning it cannot be shipped on passenger flights or vessels.
Knowing exactly which classification your batteries will fall under, its correct packaging, labelling and booking it onto the right mode of transport is what we specialise in at APG Freight.
